Chinese Book Appeal for The Olympic Games (August) One Million Dollars is urgently needed to print 100,000 copies of each of 4 books. These need to be printed in June especially to give to the many Chinese that are expected to be converted during and following the Olympics in Beijing this August. Monies raised will be sent to Antioch Ministries who will be overseeing the production and distriubtion to churches involved. They report that 15,000 Chinese are becoming Christians every day.

In recent correspondence with Jack Hayford he responded with delight after viewing the attached pictures. I thought you might like to see them as well.  Currently we are putting his book, Grounds for Living, into Urdu for "our" pastors in Pakistan - a hugely needy nation.

Do please continue to support our work as you are able.  The opportunities are immense but our funds are limited

During the last few years over 500,000 copies of Michael Eaton’s Preaching Through the Bible books have been distributed to pastors in the poorer nations.  We now urgently need funding to sponsor two more  –  Acts 1-13 and Daniel.  Both are ready for press as I write. UNPRECIDENTED OPPORTUNITIES IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

We are now in direct contact with an Egytion publisher who told us that a CONTAINER LOAD of Bibles and Christian Books has recently gone into Iraq.

He told us that there is a strong Christian Church in Iraq. But just imagine for a few moments how tough it must be to live there. So if we can help with Christian literature what a difference that can make. We need YOU to partner with us in supplying the whole of the Middle East with books in Arabic.

One book, THE LIFE OF JESUS, has been translated into Arabic and published to look like a "holy book". Although beautifully bound to make it look like a quality book they only cost $1 each to print. A businessman from Ohia has just given us $5,000 so you can imagine his delight when I told him that this will print 5,000 copies for IMMEDIATE DISTIRUBTION.

Please give generously. The "door of opportunity" is now open and we need to support our brothers and sisters in this desperately needy part of God's world.

Every $1 you can send us will be used wisely and help especially Muslims to read about JESUS. Pray with us that multitudes come to know Him.

SOVEREIGN WORLD INTERNATIONAL is excited to announce the release of their new promotional video entitled - SOWING TOGETHER FOR HARVEST. It runs for just 10 minutes and is ideal for showing to your church, home group, or simply to view privately in your own home.

The DVD was released on Monday April 26th. There is no charge - just the request that you show it to as many people as possible.

The film features a young Peruvian lady called Rocio. Born in the jungles of Peru herself, she is now taking Biblical teaching back to her own people by using a translated edition of The Foundation Christian Living (and other books) distributed by Sovereign World International. Sadly, the village that is featured in the film was washed away by floods just a few weeks after the film was made. This fact in itself hightens the need to "reach all nations with the Gospel" whilst there is still time to do so. Thankfully no lives were lost, but everything else was destroyed!

To receive the video or DVD, kindly send your name and address to Sovereign World International. If you wish to include a donationtion to help cover expenses, it would be appreciated, but it is not a condition for receiving a free copy.

Starting this month, and on into 2004, we are specifically wanting to raise funds for the launch of four taylor-made teaching books. Throughout the developing world there is an urgent need to disciple believers so that they too can disciple others.

In many countries suitable books are simply not available but, if they were, the price would be prohibitive. It is for this reason that these basic teaching books are being planned. Chris Mungeam, the President of Sovereign World International says, "Many years ago, when I worked for the Inter-Varsity Press, I had the privilege of helping produce cheaper books for the poorer nations. You can imagine my delight therefore to see that twenty-five years later this is being done again. Please join with us in giving to this exciting project so that thousands of pastors worldwide can be helped - we have so much but our brethren have so little. These four books that would total over $100 in a Christian bookstore can now be made availabe for just $20. Wonderful."

Books For the Growing Church in China:
Sovereign World Trust (UK) and Sovereign World International (USA) have been able to help in the printing publication of many teaching books in China. The latest is called THE LIFE OF JESUS. Over 200,000 copies have been printed and consideration is now being given to reprinting once the funds become available. Chris Mungeam, the SWI President says "we are delighted to partner with a wonderful organisation who are working to provide our brethren in that vast country with requested teaching books". (For security purposed the name of the organisation is not being given).

Pakistan:
Copies of the Explaining Series in Urdu have just been received. 2,000 copies of three titles have been funded by First Fruits - a Californian based charity. Emmanuel Dewan, The Director of Twin Brother Ministries (TBM) writes.......

" We believe that these wonderful books containing working knowledge of the Holy Bible will restore their sense to hear and see in the spiritual realm and enhance their wisdom giving them spirit of wisdom and revelation to know their enemy, their authority and the victory in Jesus Christ." .

Next Project needing funding:
In December details will be announced of a specially printed Pastor's Pack of 4 basic teaching books. They will be published under a new imprint - International Biblical Teaching Books. All four books are currently on sale in the Western World. By printing an edition in China on cheaper paper SWI can supply copies to thousands of pastors. Countries "covered" in the first printing will include India, Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia. The initial sum needed for this project is in excess of $100,000 US. The President of SWI will be visiting California in December specifically to meet with possible givers that can make this project a reality.
